I'm Working On A Saturday
Here I am, in the office....on a Saturday. Got an amicus brief to work on that needs finishing. The 9th Circuit had better rule my way on this ERISA matter. (For you non-DOL lawyers, that's a pension protection law.)
This federal building definitely has a government mindset - no working on weekends. On the weekends, most of the lights are off, so I had to carry a lamp into work or else I would be working in darkness. Or, the light of my computer screen. Kinda weird.
I'd complain about being in here on a Saturday, but honestly......Blessed am I among lawyers that this is a rare occurrence

You lawyers and your briefs. Personally, I prefer boxers. Or nothing.
Most of our lights are off on weekends too, but I tend to prefer the "turn the lights on" approach to the "carry a lamp into work" approach. But to each his own.
And as far as non-smartass comments are concerned, yeah, it sucks working on a Saturday, but there but for the grace do we go every week.

I wish you were dead.
By the way, what's your email? I have an interesting link to send you.

I love being one of your fellow "not on a weekend" attorneys. I had my very own shocking overtime experience this past week: I worked from 10 to 8 twice (preparing a petition to the Virginia Supreme Court).
I still wish I made more money though...
