What Would People Think?

Tuesday, November 04, 2008

Congratulations, President Obama

Lots of problems to face. But that's tomorrow. Tonight, I will quote one man.

The struggle, the suffering the pain and everything we tried to do to create a more perfect union, it was worth it.

- Rep. John Lewis, former civil rights marcher.

[Also, I'm listening to McCain's concession speech. It reminds me of everything I respect about him.]

I thought the exact same thing. Personally, I still believe he's relieved this thing is over and he can go back to being McCain rather than trying to appease the fringe.

  • Myself and my roommate (he the staunch liberal, I the embattled conservative) both thought the same thing about McCain's speech.

Had his candidacy been more like McCain and less about trying to keep the base happy, he might have had a chance. McCain trying to run as a hardline conservative was just painful to watch.
